Top 5 GPTs for Kids Coloring Books

If you’ve ever tried to make a coloring page or book with AI, you know that the style can be very inconsistent. However, with the release of the GPT Store, we now have access to specialized AI models that can solve this problem.

You might ask, why use DALL·E and not Midjourney or other AI tools? Over the past year, I’ve tried multiple Ai tools for coloring books, both for myself and my clients, and I’ve spent a lot of time editing illustrations due to gray areas and other inconsistencies.

Through my experiments, I’ve found that DALL·E GPTs are the best for creating coloring books, especially for kids. There are tons of GPTs on the platform, but I’m focusing on the best ones that require little to no editing. For this test, I’ve created both single-character illustrations and multiple-character illustrations to demonstrate the strengths and weaknesses of these GPTs.

How to find your GPTs

To begin, you should login to ChatGPT website. On the left panel, select “Explore GPTs” and type “coloring” into the search bar. You’ll find many GPTs designed for coloring books; some for adults, some general, and others specifically for children’s coloring books. While there are many options, I’ve tested them, and I’m sharing the best ones with you.

Kids Coloring Book Maker by Artur Davidian

The Kids Coloring Book by Davidian is hands down the best GPT I’ve found for creating children’s coloring books. The single character results were nearly flawless, with connected lines and minimal gray areas. Even the multiple-character results were perfect, with distinct characters and consistent line work.

Coloring Book Genius by PianoWeb di cinelli Giulio

This is my second favorite gpt for creating kids coloring page. It produces simple, clear images that may require minor edits. The multiple-character results also looked good.

Coloring Book Hero by ChatGPT

This is the official coloring page creator made by Openai. It creates a flat vector style with no gray areas, which requires minimal editing. However, when I tested it with multiple characters, the result was disappointing. There were gray areas; so, it’s not a good option for making coloring pages with multiple characters.

Coloring Books for Kids by Limjinjoo

For a single character, the results were excellent. It creates coloring pages with no gray areas and this gpt has a cute, Kawaii style. This style is perfect for baby and toddler coloring books. However, for multiple characters, the results were not good, with unrecognizable figures and inconsistent lines.

Children’s Coloring Book KDP by Viktoriia Yemets

This gpt has a style that I absolutely love. The lines are clear and there’s minimal gray areas. It’s perfect for a professional-looking coloring book. For multiple characters, however, the results were poor, with unclear and inconsistent lines.

The Verdict

Using GPTs for making coloring books is much easier because the style remains consistent throughout the book, eliminating the need for complicated prompts. These five GPTs each have their strengths and weaknesses, so choose based on the type of kids’ coloring book you want to create and the age group you are targeting.
